King Edward showed prococity on his debut in the Prix d'Essai des Poulains in March as a 3yo, finishing second between two Group horses (Falstaff and For Fun). Third in the Prix Go Ahead (L), he then went on to win the Prix Duc d'Anjou (Gr3), notably ahead of Dream Wish (Dream Well) who had just won the Prix Congress (Gr2).
A unique opportunity because King Edward cumulates performances and pedigree. Kotkie (Rheffic), his fourth dam, has produced two of the greatest horses in the history of French national hunt with the champions Kotkijet (Cadoudal) and Katko (Carmarthen). Kotkie's progeny include no less than 29 Black Types over jumps, making her the greatest strain in French national hunt. King Edward is a grandson of Kotkita (Subotica), winner of the Prix Cambacérès (Gr1) and dam of Kotkikova (Martaline), winner of the Prix Ferdinand Dufaure (Gr1).
